Unmask Your Passion for Zin!
January 28-31, 2009
"
Unmask Your Passion" reflects our enthusiasm for America's
Heritage Wine--Zinfandel. It's about the excitement we
feel when we discover a Zinfandel new to us or taste a
barrel sample from the latest vintage of one of our favorite
wineries. "Unmask Your Passion" also reflects
the personalities of Zinfandel--bold and celebratory, independent
and unpretentious, refined and elegant, versatile and diverse.
Zinfandel's true nature is sure to reveal itself to you
during the four days of Zinfandel events.
ZAP's Zinfandel Festival is an internationally
recognized series of tasting events. Renown as the premier
single-varietal tasting in the world, an estimated 275
wineries and over 10,000 attendees partake in the four
days of Festival events. The ZAP Zinfandel Festival is
held exclusively in San Francisco, and traditionally is
a sell-out. (read

residents of the Dry Creek Valley dating as far back as
1929. And in fact some of the Zinfandel vines they still
farm and get fruit from are over 100 years old. They’re
not joking when they say “Old Vine.” (read

Zinfandel - America's Grape
The 2005 Del Carlo Zin is produced
from 89% Estate Old Vine Zinfandel and 11% Petta-Serra
(Petite Sirah). The shot of Petite is pert-near common
in the DC Valley given the grape's ability to add a bit
of rustic body and deep-purple color to even the biggest
Zins. The wine spent 10 months in American oak barrels
and was fermented (technically) dry although the ripe,
robust fruit and bright, blackberry infused finish would
have you thinking otherwise...(read
